Topic
What Does Land Have To Do With It?

What do sequestering carbon, developing healthy neighborhoods, and conserving water have in common? Land. Open space preservation and land conservation can play an integral role in shaping our urban environment. While land conservation harkens to the early days of environmentalism, it is reemerging as a way to confront some of our most pressing challenges. From mitigating climate change to creating sustainable local food systems, land use planning is vital.

Join us at Green Drinks for a discussion of how land conservation is being used to meet some of our most urgent ecological and social concerns.

To date, Delta has pooled projects from 16 states and generated $2 million in new revenue through the Chicago Climate Exchange for over 900 participants with multi-year contracts. Ryan has also contributed technical assistance to a waste oil biodiesel feasibility study, a green building certification project, a grass bioenergy procurement study, and a local food system market analysis.
